Ce projet est un principe d’habitat flottant permettant à une personne seule de s’accomplir dans l’imagination, la réalisation et dans l’utilisation de cet objet. Pensé pour de l’auto-construction, cet objet donne à l’utilisateur la possibilité d’aborder le milieu marin simplement et de façon autonome. Il est conçu avec des techniques et des matériaux accessibles comme le bois et la toile. La nacelle accueillant l’utilisateur, surplombe l’eau à quelques mètres de hauteurs pour le placer en position d’observation, de contemplation voire d’introspection. Un ballast mobile le long du mat, aide à la mise à l’eau ainsi qu’au redressement de la structure. Il donne de l’inertie aussi à la structure en prenant appui à quelques mètres sous la surface, dans les eaux calmes. Un lest rempli de sable prélevé sur la plage assure la stabilité de l’ensemble.
– This project allows the individual to find a sense of fulfillment in adapting, building, and using the floating structure. Conceived as a do-it-yourself project, the object gives the user the possibility of having a simple and self-sufficient relationship with the ocean. The welcoming ‘crow’s nest’ overhangs the surface of the water by a few meters and places the user in a position of observation, contemplation, even introspection. A mobile float along the mast facilitates launch and raising of the structure. It also gives stability to the structure by drawing support from a few meters below the surface, where the water is calm. A weight filled with sand taken from the beach ensures overall stability.
